Honey Glazed Grilled Chicken Thighs

These thighs are proof that going back to basics doesn’t have to taste basic. Lightly charred on the outside and deliciously juicy on the inside. This is a speedy dinner that you’ll be making all spring and summer long.  This recipe can be made using chicken breasts instead of thighs if that's your preference but skinless thighs are a healthy, flavorful and quick-cooking protein option.  Breasts are a little lower in fat and cholesterol and a tad higher in protein. Feel free to choose the option best for you, just be sure to adjust your cooking time if you do choose chicken breasts instead.

These thighs go great with rice or any other grain and side vegetables, such as Brussels sprouts, broccoli and green beans. A simple easy meal that you'll be adding to your rotation.

Ingredients

 3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy or tamari sauce
 1 tbsp sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, pressed or minced
flaky salt and fresh ground pepper
6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 1.25lbs)
1 tbsp oil (sesame, olive, grapeseed) for brushing on chicken before grilling

Directions

1

Heat grill to medium heat. In a small bowl, combine honey, tamari or soy, sesame oil and garlic. Add in a sprinkle of flaky salt and fresh ground pepper. Whisk well and set aside.

2

Brush chicken thighs with the extra oil. Place chicken on gas grill, cooking for 8 to 12 minutes or until chicken is fork tender and juices are running clear, turning and brushing with the honey mixture during last two minutes of cooking.

Serve over rice or other grain and plenty of side vegetables.
